Community Keys

The Community Keys project is inspired by artist Luke Jerram’s ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ Street Piano artwork. With funding sourced from the Yarra Ranges Council and a generous donation of beautiful pianos from Eddie and Mandy at ABC Piano Removals, the project will locate 6 pianos in public street locations around the Yarra Ranges from February to April 2024. Once on site, community members will be encouraged to play the pianos, and fill the outdoor community spaces with music making and fun. Some of the pianos will also be painted and decorated by community groups.

Community are encouraged to share photos or stories of themselves using the pianos on instagram using the hashtag #community_keys .

The Lilydale Lake piano has been donated to the local Lilydale High School in the senior school🎹
The Moorolbark piano is also staying upon community request!
The Monbulk piano has unfortunately not made it through the Melbourne weather and is being replaced with a new piano outside the Bendigo Bank
The Healesville piano at the Memorial is staying put at community request, so please keep enjoying it
The Yarra Glen piano from the Memorial Hall has gone to a family learning to play and make music 🎶
The Belgrave piano is staying put at the request of community for the foreseeable future!!
